We had a fantastic week at Falls Creek skiing last week. Great snow, making fresh tracks on a couple of mornings. Sam was doing really well.... And when I told her to slow down and do nice turns behind me she said 'no mum, I just want to do cool stuff!' ( ie going on little tracks through the trees with jumps!)⛷⛷⛷
Charlie turned 9 whilst we were away so we skied her choice (Fox trail... A twisty track through the trees 9 times) and of course had cake.🎂🎂
The hot tub on the balcony was deluxe... Luxuriating in the hot water looking at the snowy mountains with a glass of champagne!!!🍸
We built a snowman and went sledging and were sorry that leave!
It's interesting times politically and financially with Britain pulling out of the EU and a hung parliament here in Australia. Glad we sold our house when we did...
But with three active growing children we need somewhere to live. Property is expensive in Melbourne so we have gone for something a bit different.
We have found an old house currently used as a licensed rooming house. It is full of European backpackers at the moment. It's also in poor condition so will need lots of work. There is old junk everywhere so we will need a skip or two! But the house has great potential. Watch this space...
After a very tight auction campaign we managed to sell our house. We were adversely impacted by the UK vote to leave europe. Many of the interested parties had money invested in the UK.
However the house sold after the auction at above reserve. Goodbye Hambleton Street. Simon Carruthers at Cazer did a good job.
Charlie and her friend Emily took part in their first Triathlon on a cool, windy morning in St Kilda. It was a 100m swim, 3km bike ride then a 500m run. Both girls did really well and had a lot of fun!
During the Easter school holidays Alex, Charlie and Roger went on a Photo tour of Middle Park .
Roger was teaching Alex and Charlie important skills in photography. They took loads of cool pictures. Afterwards they edited the photos in Aperture to make some great photos.
We had a terrific day out at the Anglesea Music Festival with our friends Katrina and Stewart and their kids: Ollie, Tilly and Poppy. (Alex and Olllie and Poppy and Charlie are in the same basketball teams.) The highlight was seeing Alex and Charlie's favourite band 19-Twenty who they first heard at Queenscliffe Music Festival. They saw the band by their van and went over to have a chat and a picture... turning into groupies! Then Charlie and Poppy were invited on stage to sing 'In the Jungle' with them. After that all the kids Alex, Ollie, Tilly, Charlie, Poppy and Sam were asked on stage to do some crazy dancing and drumming. Check the band out: http://www.19twentymusic.com/ They're great! Listen to tracks 'Hips' and '2 and 4'
Went to the Andy Warhol & Ai Wei Wei exhibition at NGV.
It was great Ai Wei Wei is inspirational standing up to the government in Beijing while still having fun. Alex had a ball with the "Twitter Bird Balloons"
