Christmas in July

What a fantastic weekend!
We had Christmas in July yesterday, a good excuse for a big roast dinner with all the trimmings with our good friends Julie and Gemma and their families. I made a brown sugar meringue with chocolate moose which even though I say it myself was a triumph! (complete with antlers and big red nose).
Today we went to the Lion King in the city. It was a wonderful production with amazing costumes and puppets. What a treat!

Yarrawonga

Last weekend we went up to Yarrawonga to visit our good friends Tania, Brett and their kids Kyah, Lochie and Benji. The weather was great which was a welcome change. We went to nearby Rutherglen to taste and buy some wine and eat pies!

Fun with cousins in Perth

In the school holidays we went to Perth to visit my brother and his kids: Jessica, Olivia and Max. We cooked sausages over a fire in the bush, made bread, visited Perth zoo and best of all hung out with our cousins. Alex stayed an extra couple of days and came back by himself on the plane. He was very pleased with himself!
