Melbourne Now

Melbourne now is a great new exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). It has extensive exhibits at both NGV St Kilda Road and NGV Federation Square. It's great for kids with many interactive exhibits. Three of the highlights are:-

1. Darren Sylvester's 'For You' disco room installation. The Dance Floor where kids can become part of the art work is sensational.

2. The outdoor Gardens by Urban Commons at NGV St Kilda road are great. The kids can plant their own seedlings and watch them grow. The design by Urban Commons are really innovative and inspired us to do some work on our own nature strip.

3. A huge interactive musical instrument "Big creation" by the slow art collective. This was a real hit combining recycling and music creation in one interactive space where the kids can go for it.

Melbourne Now is a delight for both kids and adults. Our three kids give it the big thumbs up.

Chris

My brother Chris came for a visit on his way back from Tasmania. He had been in Hobart growing epithelial cells at the University of Tasmania. We took him to the Melbourne Now Exhibition at NGV and some street art in Melbourne. He is now on his way back to Newcastle Upon Tyne in the UK.
